Fairies seem to be a bit idiosyncratic
Trixilie and I had a few great adventures that week. Enjoy reading!
On Monday we decided to go out. We needed fresh fruits and vegetable and after that we wanted to take a walk in the park. Trixilie was hiding in my jacket pocket all the time. It was only when we were in the park that she left my jacket pocket and flew around cheerfully. As soon as another person came along, she hid again.
That surprised me, because on the blog you can see her on some pictures. So why was she hiding in public? When I told her she could show herself in public, she shook her head very fast, so that her plaits danced around her. Her answer was: "Fairies don´t present themselves to every human - just specific humans and we pick them out ourselves. Pictures are different. There are so many books with pictures of fairies, that it is okay." With these words she took off and flew into a hedge around where some butterflies flew.
Fairies seem to be a bit idiosyncratic. Well, pictures are allowed, but I must not (yet?) make videos of her and she doesn´t like to present herself in public. Okay...
On Tuesday, Trixilie had a lot of raspberries once again for lunch. When I asked her, what she enjoys to eat, she took my pen and tried to draw it.
Number 1 are raspberries - of cause ;) , which are followed by rainbows, broccoli, carrots, grapes and blueberries.
Rainbows? But how could a fairy eat rainbows? Trixilie explained that in Berrytholdy the rainbows consist of a lot of different sorts of fruits and vegetables and these are especially delicious.
Ahaaaaa... the meaning of eating rainbows is to eat colourful, to eat fruits and vegetables from every colour (violet, red, orange, yellow, green and white). Yes, that sounds delicious :)
On Friday we had spaghetti with tomato-sauce for lunch. We cooked the sauce with fresh tomatoes, orange juice, onions and cinnamon. It was really delicious. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients for 2 persons:
120g of pasta
500g of tomatoes
250ml of orange juice
1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
1/4 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of pepper powder
2 tbsp. of oil
2 stems parsley
1. Prepare pasta according to package directions in hot salt water.
2. Quarter the tomatoes, cut the green of the tomatoes and cut the tomatoes in little pieces. Peel and cut the onion in little pieces. Chop the parsley.
3. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a saucepan. Add the onion and cook until soft. Stir from time to time.
4. Add the tomatoes (with the pips), cinnamon, salt, pepper powder, parsley and orange juice and let it simmer for 15 minutes while stirring it now and then.
5. Blend the sauce with your hand blender.
6. Drain the paste. Serve the pasta and sauce in two bowls.
As we cut tomatoes and onions, she sat down on the board from time to time and "tasted" if the tomatoes are good enough. And yes, the tomatoes were good enough every time ;)
Because Trixilie is a bit too little for my dishes, she sits on the plate every time. That is why she always cleans herself from head to foot. While I wash my hands, she jumps into the sink and goes completely under the jet of water, dries herself off with a fluffy towel and flies directly onto the plate. So that is what she also did with the spaghetti and tomato-sauce. This time she sat on the edge of the bowl, took spaghetti by spaghetti and nibbled them.
Of cause Trixilie was over and over blotted with tomato-sauce, which she thought was really funny ;)
At night from Friday to Saturday I heard some kind of drumming again and again. It sounded very close but it was really quiet... Because this sound made me a bit nervous, I turned on the lights and I saw only Trixilie sleeping in her bed. Isn´t she sweet :)
The sound was gone. But I had hardly switched off the light and lay down in my bed, I heard the sound again. I turned on the lights again, saw and heard nothing which could make this sound. This time I took my smartphone into my bed and waited. As I heard the sound I took a photo in the direction where the beat came from and couldn’t believe what I saw...
Yes, there was Trixilie rope skipping with a leftover spaghetti. Oh boy... Don´t invited a little fairy in your home, when you like to sleep at night ;)
On Saturday, I met some friends and came home late at night. Trixilie stayed at home this time. On Sunday I slept late... I mean, I slept later than usual. That means, that I didn´t get up at 7 o´clock in the morning ;)
About 8am Trixilie sat down besides my ear and sang "happy birthday". That was soooooo cute my eyes got teary. I have never been woken in such a sweet manner :) But it wasn´t my birthday.
As I walked with her into the kitchen (because she desperately wanted to show me something), I saw a birthday-fruit-gateau. I was really happy about it. A gateau completely made of fruits, vegetable and nuts. Fantastic!
In the morning as I slept, Trixilie sneaked into the kitchen and prepared this birthday-fruit-gateau very quietly.
I asked Trixilie why she had prepared this birthday-fruit-gateau, because my birthday was two weeks ago. She smiled all over her face and said, that she just felt like it.
Fairies are so cute ;)
The gateau was so beautiful it almost felt wrong to cut it into pieces, but as both of us were very hungry we finally did and enjoyed the delicious fresh taste. It was fantastic.
(That birthday-fruit-gateau-recipe is part of Trixilie’s book “Trixilies very first recipes”)
The whole Saturday Trixilie and I enjoyed the unbirthday, ate fruit-gateau, had a walk in the park and lay on the lawn, where Trixilie flew around with some butterflies again.
So the last week ended very relaxing :)
Trixilie and I wish you a great week.
