FAQ:

Why colouring recipes?

A Colouring Recipe Book seems to be like a completely normal colouring book. First of all the kids starts to colour it. So they colour a lot of different fruit and vegetables. After a little while they want to cook these recipes. Because of the little step-by-step-pictures and the help of fairy Trixilie they know exactly how to prepare the meals. While the preparation they nibble a bit of fruit and vegetables, but when their self-prepared meal is ready, they love to eat it – and love to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables :)

Which books are available?

Each book has a specific theme, like “Muffins”, “Trixilie’s very first recipes” (it’s getting a facelift), “Trixilie tastes England” (is coming soon), etc. So the focus is not on eating fruit and vegetables – the focus is to have a trip through a country (“Trixilie tastes England”), to eat a specific colour (is coming soon) or to eat fairy tale characters (like in “Trixilie’s very first recipes”).

With which book should I start with?

The chronological first book is the “Muffin-Book”. In this book, Trixilie is not mentioned. This is the very first Colouring Book Bea has drawn and Trixilie decided to go to Bea because of this book. (If you want to know much more about it, read Trixilie’s interview.) The very first book with Trixilie is “Trixilie’s very first recipes” – in that book are a lot of very simple recipes. That could be a good start.

But honestly, it doesn’t matter which book is the first book. Much more important is, that your little darling loves the theme in the book, so your darling loves to colour, prepare and eat the recipes. So if your child loves to travel with Trixilie through England, then you should take “Trixilie tastes England” ;)

What does this book contain?

Each book is a bit different (you can read the details above), but all the books have the following features in common:

In every book is a lot of love and work. All recipes are carefully created, tried and then richly drawn by hand.

Each recipes is hand drawn and hand written with black ink and converted to book

In each book are approx. 20 - 25 recipes with a lot of fruit and vegetables, so there are 40 – 50 pages to colour in each book.

a bookmark with photos of all prepared meals

book size: 8.3 x 11.7 in / 21.0 x 29.7 cm (A4 size)

on thick (120g/m²) paper with artwork on every side (bright white, certified by the FSC), bound with a white spiral (wire-o spiral binding)

Suited for pencil, crayon coloring, felt pens or marker pens coloring

How should my child colour the drawings?

Your child is free to colour the drawings as she/he wishes, even if she/he decides to create green muffins with pink dots. :) As a guideline you could use the picture on the bookmark, but it is just an inspiration.

With which pens should my child colour? Which pens should my child use?

Your child could take felt pens, wax crayons or crayons. Drawing ink, watercolour or oil paint are not suitable because of the paper structure.
